ORDINANCE N0.
REZONING CERTAIN PROPERTY OF WARECO SYSTEM, INC.
IN THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS
FROM R-2 SINGLE FAMILY TO I-1 LIGHT INDUSTRIAL
WHEREAS it appears to the City Council of the City of Canton,
Illinois, that the territory hereinafter described is located
within the corporate limits of the City of Canton, said premises
being generally located at 419 South Main Street, in the City of
Canton, Fulton County, Illinois; and
WHEREAS it further appearing to said City Council that a
Petition for Rezoning was duly filed and due and proper notice
thereof was published in the Canton Daily Ledger, a secular news-
paper having a general circulation of the City of Canton, County
of Fulton, and State of Illinois, said notice being made and pub-
lished according to the Statutes of the State of Illinois and the
Ordinances of the City of Canton, Illinois; and
WHEREAS a public hearing was held before the Planning and
Zoning Commission of the City of Canton, Illinois, on October 10,
1994, concerning the request of Wareco System, Inc. to rezone the
hereinafter described real estate from an R-2 zoning classification
to an I-1 zoning classification; and
WHEREAS it further appearing to the City Council that on
October 10, 1994, the Planning and Zoning Commission made a recom-
mendation to the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois, that
the peti~ioner'srequest for rezoning be approved.
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CANTON, ILLINOIS:
Section 1.
That the territory hereinafter described be and
the same is hereby rezoned from an R-2 zoning classification to

an I-1 zoning classification, said premises being more particularly
described as follows:
Lot One Hundred Seventy-Seven (177) and the South Ten
(10) feet of Lot One Hundred Seventy-One (171), all in
Wright's Addition to the City of Canton, Fulton County,
Illinois.
Section 2. That the City of Canton zoning maps, documents
and related regulations be and the same are hereby amended so that
the territory hereinabove described shall be, and the same is
hereby made, an I-1 zoning classification.
Section 3.
That an emergency is determined to exist in regard
to this matter, in that the petitioner, Wareco System, Inc., needs
to begin construction of improvements on and near this premises,
while weather permits so that construction is not delayed to Spring
1995; therefore, the usual rules of the City Council are hereby
suspended, and this Ordinance shall be passed at a single meeting
before the City Council.
Section 4. That this Ordinance shall be in effect from and
after a majority vote of the City Council of the City of Canton,
Illinois, and approval by the Mayor thereof.
PASSED BY A MAJORITY VOTE OF THE CITY COUNCII, OF THE CITY OF
CANTON, ILLINOIS, AND APPROVED BY THE MAYOR THEREOF THIS 18~ DAY
