Ordinance No . 1441
AN ORDINANCE
Annexing and rezoning certain property of Joseph J.
Berardi and Deborah L. Berardi on North Main Street in
the City of Canton, Illinois.
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of
Canton, Illinois, that the territory hereinafter described
is .not located within the corporate limits of said City of
Canton, Illinois; and
IT FURTHER APPEARING to said City Council that a
Petition for Annexation and Rezoning has been filed by the
Petitioners, Joseph J. Berardi and Deborah L. Berardi, to
rezone the property hereinafter described to a I-1 zoning
configuration; and
IT FURTHER APPEARING to said City Council that a public
hearing was conducted by the Planning and Zoning Commission
of the City of Canton, Illinois, in accordance with the
laws of this State and the ordinances of the City of
Canton, Illinois, on the 12th day of September, 1994, and
said Planning and Zoning Commission made no recommendation
with regard to the annexation or rezoning of the property
hereinafter described;
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS:

Section 1. That the territory described as follows:
THREE AND ONE-TENTH (3-1/10) ACRES OF EVEN WIDTH
OFF OF THE NORTH SIDE OF TRACT 3, IN THE PLATTED
SUB-DIVISION OF THE NORTH HALF OF THE NORTH-EAST
QUARTER OF SECTION 15, IN TOWNSHIP 7 NORTH, RANGE
4 EAST OF THE FOURTH PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN, FULTON
COUNTY, ILLINOIS, SAID TRACT BEING MORE
SPECIFICALLY DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS: Beginning at an
iron pin at the Northwest corner of the Carl
Williamson land, said iron pin being approximately
1236 feet West of the Northeast corner of the
Northeast Quarter of said Section 15, running
thence South 421 feet, to an iron pin at the
Southwest corner of said Williamson land, running
thence due West to the East boundary of Route 78,
running thence Northeasterly along the East
boundary of said Route 78, to the South boundary
of a public highway running along the North side
of said Williamson land, running thence due East
to the place of beginning; EXCEPT THEREFROM ALL
THAT PART OF SAID TRACT DEDICATED FOR PUBLIC
HIGHWAY PURPOSES.
be and the same is hereby annexed to the City of
Canton, Illinois, zoned in a I-1 zoning configuration
according to the City Code of the City of Canton,
Illinois.
Section 2. That the. City Engineer is directed
to prepare an appropriate annexation plat and the City
Zoning Administrator is hereby instructed and ordered
to reflect said I-1 zoning configuration on the zoning
map of the City of Canton, Illinois, as required by
this Ordinance.

Section 3. That this Ordinance shall be in full
force and effect immediately upon its passage by a
majority vote of the aldermen holding office in the
City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, at a regular
meeting this 18th day of October lg~~
upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen. Molleck, Phillips, S~rff, Meade, Mayor Edwards.
NAYS : Aldermen Coay, Bohlen, May, Chapman..
