ORDINANCE NO. 1429
AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF CANTON, FULTON
COUNTY, ILLINOIS, BELONGING TO JACK WILCOXEN, 143 SOUTH AVENUE I, CANTON,
ILLINOIS
WHEREAS, a petition was filed with the city clerk for the annexation of the real property
described below, and said real property is not within the corporate limits of any municipality, but is
contiguous to the city of Canton, Illinois:
A part of the Southeast Quarter of Section 28, Township 7 North, Range 4 East of
the Fourth Principal Meridian, Fulton County, Illinois, described as follows:
Beginning at a point 66 feet North and 30 feet East of the Southwest corner of the
Southeast Duarter of said Section, running thence East 151.13 feet and thence
North 250 feet to the point of beginning; from said point of beginning running East
100 feet, thence North 540 feet, thence West 251.13 feet, thence South along the
West boundary line of South Avenue I a distance of 223 feet, thence East 151.13
feet, thence South 317 feet to the point of beginning.
WHEREAS, a public hearing on said petition was conducted by the Planning and Zoning
Commission of the city of Canton on June 13, 1994, pursuant to proper notice having been
published in the Daily Ledger; and
WHEREAS, on June 13, 1994, the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended to the
city council that the real property described in the Exhibit attached hereto be annexed to the city
of Canton pursuant to 65 ICLS 5/7-1-1 et seq.; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the city of Canton, Illinois, that said real property be
annexed to the city of Canton;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CANTON, ILLINOIS;

1. That the territory described above be and the same is hereby annexed to the city of
Canton, Illinois.
2. That the described real property be and it is hereby zoned R-2, single-family
residential.
3. That the Zoning Administrator is directed to make the appropriate changes to the
zoning maps of the city of Canton to show this annexation and zoning.
4. That the city clerk is directed to record with the recorder of deeds of Fulton County and
to file with the county clerk of Fulton County a certified copy of this Ordinance, toigether with an
accurate map of the annexed territory.
5. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its passage by the City
Council of the city of Canton and approval by its Mayor.
PASSED by the city council of the city of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, at a regular
meeting this 5th day of July , 1994, upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: A7-dermen ~~ May, Meade, Sarff, Phillips, Nlolleck, Coay,
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: Alderman Bohler,
Mayor
