ORDINANCE NO. 1426
AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF CANTON,
FULTON COUNTY, ILLINOIS OF SHERMAN KINSEL, ROUTE 3, CANTON,
ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS, a petition was filed with the City Clerk for the
annexation of the real property described below, with the zoning
request of I-1 Light Industrial District, and R-2 Single Family
Residential District, and said real property is not within the
corporate limits of any municipality, but is contagious to the
City of Canton, Illinois,
WHEREAS, a public hearing on said petition was conducted
by the Planning & Zoning Commission of the City of Canton on
April 11, 1994, pursuant to proper notice having been published
in the Daily Ledger;
WHEREAS, on April 11, 1994, the Planning & Zoning Commission
recommended to the City Council that the real property described
in the exhibit hereto be annexed and re-zoned to the City of
Canton pursuant to Chapter 24 of the Illinois Revised State
Statutes,
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of Canton,
Illinois, that said real property be annexed and re-zoned to
the City of Canton.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS:
1. That territory described above be and the same is hereby
annexed and re-zoned to the City of Canton, Illinois.
2. That the described real property be and is hereby zoned
I-1 Light Industrial and R-2, Single Family Residential.
3. That the zoning Administrator is directed to make the
appropriate changes to the zoning maps of the City of Canton
to show this annexation and zoning.
4. That the City Clerk is directed to record with the
Recorder of Deeds of Fulton County and to file with the County
Clerk of Fulton County a certified copy of this ordinance together
with an accurate map of the annexed and zoned territory.
5. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
upon its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton and
approval by its Mayor.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois at a regular meeting this 19th day of
April 1994, upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Chapman, May, Meade, Sarff, Phillips, Mr~lleck, Coay.
NAYS : None,
ABSENT : Alderman Bohler.
