HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance #1475 ORDINANCE N0. 1~5 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR STOP SIGNS AT THE INTERSECTION OF WHITE COURT AND EAST WALNUT STREET IN THE CITY OF CANTON, FULTON COUNTY, ILLINOIS. WHEREAS, the Legal and Ordinance Committee of the Canton City Council has determined that it is necessary to place stop signs at the at the northwest corner of White Court and Walnut Street stopping traffic southbound on White Court in the City of Canton, Illinois; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois has made a similar determination. HOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTOR, Fulton County, Illinois as follows: 1. That stop signs shall be placed at the northwest corner of White Court and Walnut Street stopping traffic southbound on White Court in the City of Canton, Illinois. 2. That the Street Superintendent shall post appropriate stop signs informing the public of this requirement. 3. That any person who violates this Ordinance shall, upon conviction, be subject to a fine of not less than Twenty-Five ($25.00) nor more than Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00) for each such offense. L,.. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect ten (10) days after its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, approval by the Mayor thereof, and publication in pamphlet form as provided by law. PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois at a regular meeting this 5th , day of July , 1995, upon a roll call vote as follows: AYES: Aldermen Molleck, Hartford, Sarff, Phillips, Meade, Shores, May.
