HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance #1466;, 1 x -~ ORDINANCE NO. 1.~n~ AN ORDINANCE RE-ZONING CERTAIN PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF CANTON, FULTON COUNTY,ILLINOIS, OF NORWEST BANK ILLINOIS,N.A., LAND TRUST #21-238, 1750 N. 4TH AVE., CANTON,ILLINOIS. WHEREAS, a Petition for Re-Zoning, signed by the owners of record of all the real estate hereinafter described, was filed before the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Canton, Illinois, requesting that said real estate be re-zoned from R-2 (Single Family Residential) to an R-4 (Multiple Family Residential) zoning classification; and WHEREAS, the real estate which is the subject of this Petition is legally described as follows and is generally located at 1750 N. 4th Ave., in the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois: Lot 72, Lot 73 and the EAST Twenty (20) Feet of Lot 74, Northview Manor, Section Two (2) to the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois; and WHEREAS, Norwest Bank Illinois, N.A., Land Trust #21-238 is the owner of record of the real estate to be re-zoned and there are no other owners of record; and WHEREAS, the real estate to be re-zoned is within the corporate limits of the City of Canton, Illinois; and WHEREAS, all petitions, documents and other necessary legal requirements are in full compliance with the statutes of the State of Illinois and the ordinances of the City of Canton, Illinois, and proper notice of the filing of the Petition for Re-Zoning was given as provided by law; and 1 WHEREAS, a public hearing was held before the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Canton, Illinois on May 8, 1995, pursuant to proper notice published in the Canton Daily Ledger, a secular newspaper having a general circulation in the City of Canton, County of Fulton and State of Illinois; and WHEREAS, on May 8, 1995 the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Canton, Illinois recommended to the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois that the real estate described above be re-zoned from R2 (Single Family Residential) to an R4 (Multiple Family Residential) zoning classification; and WHEREAS, the highest and best use of the real estate described above is for multiple family residential purposes; and WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of Canton, Illinois that said real estate be re-zoned from R2 (Single Family Residential) to an R4 (Multiple Family Residential) zoning classitcation. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois, as follows: 1. That the City Council finds as facts the recitals hereinabove set forth. 2. That the real estate described above be re-zoned from R2 (Single Family Residential) to an R4 (Multiple family Residential) zoning classification. 3. That the Zoning Administrator of the City of Canton, Illinois is hereby directed to make the appropriate changes to the zoning maps of the City of Canton to reflect this re-zoning. 4. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois, and approval by the Mayor thereof. 2 e ~ i PASSED by a majority vote of the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois and APPROVED by the Mayor thereof, this 16th day of Mav 1995, upon a roll call vote as follows: Ayes: Aldermen Molleck, Hartford, Sarff, Phillips, Bohler, Shores, May, Nays: None , Absent: Alderman Meade Approved: Donald E.
