HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance #1452 ORDINANCE N0. 1452 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING, DIRECTING AND SETTING THE DATE FOR THE SALE AT PUBLIC AUCTION OF CERTAIN PERSONAL PROPERTY OWNED BY THE CITY OF CANTON AND NO LONGER NEEDED FOR CITY PDRPOSES. WHEREAS, the Canton City Council has determined that the City of Canton presently owns certain items of personal property no longer needed or used for City purposes. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows: 1. The following items hereto attached as Exhibit '~A" and hereby approved for sale and shall be sold at public auction and to the highest bidder. Such auction shall be held in the parking lot at the Railroad Depot along the railroad tracks on North Fourth Avenue between East Elm Street and East Chestnut Street on Saturday, March !,, 1995 at 9:30 o'clock A.M., and continuing until all items are sold or until bidding has terminated. 2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized to cause advertisement of such sale to be made as may be desirable or required by law. 3. The Mayor may, in his discretion, hire and employ one or more professional auctioneer(s) to assist in such auction. 4. That this Ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, by at least 3/4 vote of the Corporate Authorities and approval by the Mayor thereof.
