AN ORDINANCE REZONING PARTS OF SECTION ONE AND SECTION FIVE OF
VILLAGE SQIIARE SIIBDIVISION IN THE CITY OF CANTON, FIILTON COIINTY,
ILLINOIS
WHEREAS, a petition was filed with the City Clerk for the
rezoning of the real property described below, and said real
property is within the corporate limits of the City of Canton,
Illinois.
WHEREAS, errors were made in preparing the plat of the
original zoning ordinance and further the uses of the property
originally shown as B-1 have been exclusively R-3 and R-4; and,
WHEREAS, a public hearing on said petition was conducted by
the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Canton on
December 12, 1994 pursuant to proper notice having been published
in the Canton Daily Ledger;
WHEREAS, on December 12, 1994 the Planning and Zoning
Commission recommended to the City Council that the real property
described in the attached exhibit hereto be rezoned in the City of
Canton pursuant to Division 13, Article 11, Aet 5, Chapter 65,
Illinois Compiled Statutes, 1992 (65 ILCS 5/11-13-1 et seq); and,
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of Canton,
Illinois that said real property be rezoned in the City of Canton.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows:

1. That the Canton City Council hereby finds as facts the
assertions set forth above.
2. That the described real property be and is hereby
rezoned as follows:
Lots 11 , 12, 12A, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 , 22,
23, 24, 24A, 25, 26 and 27 in Section One of Village Square
Subdivision to the City of Canton. From Co-1 Conservation
to R-2, Single Family Residential.
Lots 7, 8, 9 and 10 in Section One, Village Square
Subdivision to the City of Canton. From CO, Conservation to
R-3, Two Family Residential.
Lots 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41 and 42 in
Section One of Village Square Subdivision to the City of
Canton. From R-3, Two Family Residential to R-2, Single
Family Residential.
Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 10 in Section Five, Village Square
Subdivision to the City of Canton. From B-1, Local Shopping
to R-4, Multiple Family Residential.
3. That the Zoning Administrator is directed to make the
appropriate changes to the zoning maps of the City of Canton to
show this rezoning.
4. That the City Clerk is directed to record with the
Recorder of Deeds of Fulton County and to file with the County
Clerk of Fulton County a certified copy of this ordinance.
5. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
upon its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton and
approval by its Mayor.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, FlZlton
County, Illinois at a regular meeting this 3rd day of
January ~ 19 95 upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Coay, Molleck, Phillips, Sarff, Bohler, May, Chapman.
NAYS: None,
ABSENT: Alderman Meade.
