AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING COMPENSATION FOR POSITIONS WITHIN THE
CITY OF CANTON FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING MAY, 2008
WHEREAS, the City of Canton, acting through its Mayor with the concurrence of the City
Council, determines the annual salaries to be paid to City employment positions not provided for
under a collective bargaining agreement, and
WHEREAS, the fiscal year beginning May, 2007 has expired and it is necessary to establish
rates for the ensuing fiscal year.
WHEREAS, on June 3, 2008, the corporate authorities passed Ordinance No. 1934, which
inadvertently excluded part-time employment positions with the City, and
WHEREAS, the corporate authorities do intend to provide salaries for said part-time employees.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois,
as follows:
1. That the rates of compensation for the fiscal year beginning May 2008 for the various
positions of part-time appointive employees and any and all positions referenced in Exhibit A
(attached hereto and in corporate therein as Exhibit A), are to be effective as of and retroactive to
and inclusive of the date of May 1, 2008. Said salaries are in addition to other entitlements
normally and customarily extended to each such position.
2. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage by
the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois and approval by the Mayor thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois and approved by the Mayor thereof
this 15th day of ,July , 2008, upon a roll call vote as follows:
