Section 1. That any person who �r_ail occupy residential proper-
ty either as a tenant or under a contract of purchase and shall consume
water furx�ished by the City of Canton, Illinois, shall before entering �.
said property make a deposit of �10.00 with the Cashier of the City
Water Department. This deposit shall be kept in a separate fund by the
Cashier ar_d sha.11 be returned to the p�rson depositin�? the same when he
either vacates the pa�operty or receives a deec� of conveyance provided
there is no ?noney due the City for water, in. which case the amount
owing said City shall be deducted from said deposit and the balance
remaining returned to the person makinp said deposit.
Section 2. That any peraon, firm or cor�oration who shall oe-
cupy busineas property as a tenant and shall consume water furnished
by the City of Canton, Zllinois, shall before entering said property
make a deposit of °�20.00 with the ^ashier of the i,ity Water Department.
This deposit shall be lcept in a sepa.rate fund and shall be returned to
said person, firm or corporation when said premises are vaeated by
said person, firm or corporation, provided there is no money due the
City for water, in whieh case the amount owing the said City sh�,ll first
be deducted and the balance remaining returned to the person, firm or
corporation makin� said deposit.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall be in force after its passage
by the City Council and approval by the Mayor.
