HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance #379 �_ . • - ,� , ` °' � _ � ORDINANCE N0. 37� WHF�ftEAS, the City of Canton� Illinois, is in poseession of a tract of lend lying between East Oak Street and East Hickory Street and South First Avenne and South Second Avenue in the City of Can.ton, Illinois, which is commonly called South Park; and WHE�F.AS, the said Park has for many years been used ae a playground for children; and WHEREAS, the Canton Pa.rk District has indieated that it is willing to take over sai.d Park ao that it can be developed for the use of person� living in the area aurrounding it; and WfTER.FA�S� it is for the best interests of the reeidents of the City of Canton, Illinois, that the City rent and lease said Park to the Canton Park District for a period of twenty yeara. COUNCIL OF THE CITY THEREl�ORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY/OF CANTON, ILLINOISs Section 1. That the City rent and lease South Park to the Canton Park Diatrict For a period of twenty years at an annual rental of $1.00. Section 2. That the Mayor and the Cit3► Clerk be and they are hereby authorized to execute on behalf of the Citq any Written Agreeanent neceasaxy to make effective this Ordinance. Seetion 3. This Ordinance shall be in effect after its passage by the City Council and approval by the Mayor. Passed by the City Couneil and approved bq the Mayor this � day oP A. D. 1958.
