WH�'R�'aAS, the City Clerk of tr.e City of Canton, Illinois, has received
a certified copy of an Order of the County Court of Fulton,County, �llinois, en-
tered in the matter of the Annexation of Certain T�rritory to the City of Canton,
Illinois, on the 22nd day of October A. D. 195�; �nd ,
WH�'R.EAS, said Order of said County Court found, amon� other thin�s,
that the Petition filed for the annexation of. said territory conforms with the
Statutes of the State of Illinois in such cases made and provided, narr:ely,
Article VII of the City and Villa�e Act of the State of Ill�noi.s; that it was
signed by a ma�ority of the owners of record of the land and territory herein-
after described, and also si�ned �y a ma3ority of the ?�'.lectors residir_g in said
territory; that said territory was not within the corporate limits of ariy munici-
pa.lity and is contiguous to the �ity of Canton, Illinois; said Order further or-
dered and directed that the question of annexation of said territory to the said
City of !'�anton, be submitted to the !'ity Council of the City of Canton, Illinois,
for final action thereon; and
WH`_:RFAS, the question of the anne�tion of. said territory, being con-
sidered by the City rouncil of the �ity of Canton, �llinois;

thence West 40 rods, to the place of beginning;

thirty (30) days after it4 pasGade by a two thirds (2/3) vote unless within this
thirty (30) day period a petitior_ is presented to the !".ity of Canton, Illinois,
or unless a R.eferen.dum thereon is ordered by the �ity Council of the said City
of Cantcn, Tllinois, requestin� that tre question of the anne�tion of the above
described territory be sub�itted to the electors of the said City af Canton, Illinois.
PASS� by a two-thirds (2�3) vote of �he City Council and approved by
