HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance #1512i ORDINANCE N0.~512 REZONING CERTAIN PROPERTY OF THE CHURCH OF GOD OF PROPHECY ON 115 EAST ALDER, IN THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS, FROM R-4 TO B-l. WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois, that the territory hereinafter described is located within the corporate limits of the City of Canton, Illinois; and is currently zoned Agricultural: and IT FURTHER APPEARING to said City Council that a Petition for Rezoning has been filed by the Petitioners, The Church of God of Prophecy, to rezone the property hereinafter described to a B-1 zoning configuration; and IT FURTHER APPEARING to said City Council that a public hearing was conducted by the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Canton, Illinois, in accordance with the laws of this State and the ordinances of the City of Canton, Illinois, on the 12th day of August, lgg6, and said Planning and Zoning Commission recommended that the property hereinafter described be rezoned from Agricultural to a B-1 zoning configuration; THEREAFTER, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That the territory described as follows: A part of the South One Half of the Southeast Quarter Section 10, Town 7 North, Range 4 East of the 4th Principal Meridian. Commencing at the Southeast corner of Section 10, Town and Range aforesaid, thence West 743.0 feet to the point of beginning; thence West 225.0 feet; thence in a northerly direction 660.0 feet; thence East 242.6 feet; thence South 660.0 feet to the point of beginning, to the City of Canton, County of Fulton and State of Illinois, 1 ~ 1 be and the same is hereby zoned as a B-1 zoning configuration according to the City Code of the City of Canton, Illinois. Section 2. That the City Zoning Administrator is hereby instructed and ordered to make the necessary adjustments on the zoning map of the City of Canton, Illinois, to reflect the changes required by this Ordinance. Section 3.
