ORDINANCE N0. � � .
IdI��AS, on the 5th. day of September, 1961, an amendment
to Chapter �,Article 1, Section 4 of the Revised Ordinances
of the City o�� Canton, Illinois , 1959, was passed by the city
Council of Canton, Illinois , which provided, among other things
for the appointment of a Special Police Officer to assist the
Police Department in the operation of parkin� meters etc.
1�ND, WHEREAS, it �:as provided in said amendment that
said Special Police Officer shall look after the operation of
the parking meters of the City of Canton, an.d collect all the
money from same;
�N:�, WHEREAS, it was provided by ORDINANCE N0. 47, passed
by said City Clouncil of Canton, Illinois, on the 3rd. day of
October, 1961, that any person igsued a r�otice of his or her
violation of the provisions contained in sections 1 and 2 of
said Ordinance No. 4?, may, on or before midnight of the da�r
on which said notice is issued, avoid prosecution by placing
the sum of twenty-five c�nts in an envelope and depositing it
in one of the yellow boxes provided �or that purpo�e on cer-
tain parking meter pos�s in the City of Canton ;
TH�"�REFORE, BE IT ORD.AINED BY THE CITY C�UNCIL OF CANTON,
ILLIPIOIS:
l. That thE mone�� coll.ected from said yellow boxes, #(see '�elow)
shall, as soon as collected., b� turned over to the FILE CL�RK
of the Police Dep�rtment of the City of Canton who shall, wit::
all due d�ligence, deliver the sai� mon�y so collected over tc;
thr.; City Treasurer.
2. A�.l �rior Ordinanc�s o� said Cit� of Canton in con-
flict �tith a.�y of the provisions ��rovided by this Ordinance
shall be and tY!e same is hernby re��ealed on and after th� ef-
fective date af this C�rdir��.nce.
3. This Ordinance shall be eff�ctive ten days aftvr
its passa�;.e by thc City Cour_cil, approval by the Mayor, and
publication according to law.
