ORDINANCE N0. ���

WI�REAS, certain diseases are attacking the trees of the
City of Canton, causing death to a large number of the tree�
to such an. extent that they need be cut down and burned:
AND WHEREAS this has necessitated the haulin� of many dead
trees to the City disposal grounds , where they must be gathered
and burned;
AND WhE.�.EAS this has created a condition which has added
greatly to the expense of the City in disposing of said trees
at said disposal grounds ;
THER�}�FORE, BE IT ORD�INk�,D BY TH7� CITY COUNCII, OF THE CITY
OF CAI�TTONL ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That every firm, person, or corporation hauJ.ing
trees and lo�s to the grounds known as the City Dump or Refuse
Grounds, near the City of Canton, Illinois, on automobile trucks
over three-fourth' s of a ton, shall pay to the City of Canton
One Dollar per truck load for each load delivered and dumped at
said �rounds.
Section 2. That Y�efore such trees or logs, or both, shall
be dumped at said grounds , the person, firm, or corporation
delivering such refuse at said �rounds , shall pay the sum of
One Dollar per truck 1.oad , on lo�ds hauled on such trucks, as
aforesaid, to the �ity Clerk of Canton, Illinois, and receive
from said Clerk a receipt or voucher for such payment , which
receipt or voucher shall be delivered to the yard man at s�id
dumping and refuse gr.ounds ; and �o person, firm, or corporation
shall be permitted to dump such refuse at said �rounds without
delivering �o said yard man such a receipt or voucher from the
City Clerk, as aforesaid.
Section 3. Every person, firm, or corporation violating the
provisions of this Ordinance , shall be subject to a fine of not
less than Five Dollars nor more than One Hundred Dollars for each
load of refuse so delivered to said yard and dumped thereon.
Section 4. This orc�inance shall be in effect ten da�s after
its passage by the City Council, approval by the Mayor, and pub-
lication �ccordin� to law.
Passed by the City (;ouncil and approved by the Mayor this
day of November, 1962.
