BE I'I' ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF C�1N-
TON, ILLINOIS, That
Section l. Section 11 of Chapter XXIII, of the Revi�ed
Ordinances of the City of Canton, Illinois, entitled "Restric���..
ion on Licenses", be and th� same is hereby amended to read as
f ollows :
No new license shail be issued as to any new
location so as to increase the total number of Class A Club
licenses within the corporate limits of the City of Canton in
excess of one license per 2,000 population of the City of Canton
Such limitations shall not effect the right of
any present licens� to a renewal of such present license, but as
licenses are revoked, expire without renewal or for any other :�
reason cease to exist , then the total number of licenses shall
be reduced by the number revoked, expiring or ceasing to exist
until the total number of �lass A licenses issued and in ef-
fect becomes not in excess of one for each 2Q00 population of
the Cit;� of Canton� When the number of licenses shall be re-
duced to the limit above specified, this limit shall thereafter
be and constitute the maximum number of Club licenses within the
City of Canton for the retail sale of alcohol liquor un.�er this
ordinance.
Section 2. That all other parts and portions of said
Chapter XXIII shall remain in full force and effect.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage by the City Council of the
City of Canton, approval of the Mayor, an� publication accord-
in� to law.
PASSED by the City Cauncil of the Ci y of Canton, I11-
inois, and approved by the Mayor, this day of March, A.
D. 1964.
