BE IT ORD.A.INED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, ILL—
INOIS: That
� Section 1. Any driver of a vehicle driving West on East
Chestnut Street, in Canton, Illinois, shall not make a left turn
onto North Main Street, but must make a right �urn on to Main
Street or proceed straight ahead on to West Chestnut Street, an.d
a sign indicatin� no left turn shall be erected on or ad�acent t
the island at the Northwest corner of Jones'Park.
Section 2. Any driver of a vehicle entering, parking, o
drivin� throu�h the parkin� areas inclosed by islands, at both
�orth and South ends of Jones ' Park shall, when leaving said par
ing areas, make left turns only.
Section 3. Stop signs shall be placed at the exits of
the parkin� areas inclosed by islands, at both North and South
ends of Jones' Park, and every driver of a vehicle leaving said
parking areas for the purpose of enterin� onto the streets on
West or East sides of said parking areas shall stop before ente
ing either o�' said streets, and then proceed cautiously, and
shall grant the privilege of immediate use of the intersecting
streets to vehicles approaching from the ri�ht of said driver of
said vehicle.
Section 4. That a stop si�n shall be placed on West Elm
Street, Canton, Illinois, where said Street intersects with Main
treet, and every driver of a vehicle drivin� East on said West
lm Street and approaching said stop sigr�. shall stop before en—
tering said Main Stree�, and then proc�ed cautiously. �
Section 5. That any person who shall violate this Or—
inance shall be subject to a fine of not less that Three ($3.00)
ollars and not more than Two Hundred ($200.00) Dollars.
Section 6. That Ordinance No. 97, passed by the City
ouncil of the City of Canton, Illinois, ar�d approved by the Mayo
n the 3rd. day of December, 1963, is hereby repealed.
