ORDINANCE NO. 1499
AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A SPECIAL USE PERMIT FOR THE OPERATION
OF A DAY CARE FACILITY FOR THE WESLEY UNITED METHODIST CHIIRCH
AT THE ADDRESS OF 120 NORTH AVENUE A, CANTON, ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS, it •appears to the City Council of the City of
Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, that the territory hereinafter
described is located within the corporate limits of the City
of Canton; and,
WHEREAS, a petition was filed by Wesley United Methodist
Church, owners of said real estate to the Planning & Zoning
Commission of said city requesting a special use; and,
WHEREAS, notice of a petition for a special use permit
in a B-1 local shopping district was published within said'City
and County, all in accordances with the Statutes of the State
of Illinois and the Ordinances of the City of Canton; and,
WHEREAS, no objectors appeared at said hearing and said
commission did thereupon make favorable findings of fact and
did recommend to the Canton City Council that said special use
for the day care facility at 120 North Avenue A be allowed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows:
1. That the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois, hereby finds the foregoing recitals to be
fact.
2. That a special use permit for the operation of a day
care facility be issued to Wesley United Methodist Church, at
the address of 120 North Avenue A, Canton, Illinois, affecting
real property being legally described as follows:
Lots 101 and 104 in Original Town of Canton all situated in the
City of Canton, County of Fulton and State of Illinois.

3. That the records of the City of Canton, appropriate
documents, maps and related regulations be, and the same hereby
are, amended to reflect the foregoing special use permit granted
herein.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton
County, Illinois, at a regular meeting this 5th day of March ,
1996, upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Molleck, Hartford, Sarff, Phillips, Nidiffer,
Shore, May.
NAYS: None,
ABSENT: Alderman Meade,
