WHERE�S, it appears to the City Council of the City of Canton,
Illinois, that the t erritory hereinafter described, is not within
the corporate limits of any municipality but is contiguous �o th�
City of Canton, Illinois; and
WHEREAS, it further appearing to the said City Council that
all electors residing in said territory hereinaft�r described and
the owners of record of all of the land within sa�id territory havp
filed their verified petition requesting that said territqry : be
annexed to the City of Canton, Illinois, which said petition wae
filed with the City C1erk of the City of Canton, Illinofs,;
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY CCUNC�� OF TH�+� CITY OF
CANTON, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That the territory described as follows, to wi.ts
Beginuing at the Boutheast corner of Lot Mumber 1,
Blocg 5 af F. A. Coblei gh's First Addition to the
Cit� of Canton, Fulton Count;�, Illinois, thence
North along the corporate line of the City of Can-
ton to the center of East Vine Street, Canton, I11-
inois, thence East along the center of East Vine
Street to the center of North Thirteenth Aveaue,
thence South along the center of North Thirteenth
Avenue to a point directly East of the Southeast cor-
ner of I,ot number 14 in s€�id Block 5, in said Addit-
ion, thence West along the corporate line of the
City of Canton to the Southeast corner of said Lot
14 in said Addition, and continuin� west along said
corporate line and the South �ide of said Lot 14 to
the place of beginning all in Township of Canton,
County of Fulton, and �atate of Illinois, be and the
same is hereby annexed to the City of Canton, I11-
inois.
Section 2. That the City Clerk file with the recorder of
Deeds of Ful�on County, Illinois, a certified copy of this Ordinance
together with an accurate map of the territory above described and
the sa.me be recorded with said Recorder of Deed� of Fulton Courity
Illinois.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in effect from aad
�fter a two-thirds affirmative "aye" and "no" vote oY s�a�d Ci�r , .
Council of the City of Canton, Illinois, and approval b� the Mayor
of said City.
PASSED by a twa-thirds �lote of the Corporate Authorities of
the City of Canton oa an "a9e" and "no" vote of the Cit9 Council
of the City of Canton and approved b� �he Mayor this _�_ day of
April, 1965. .
