Section 1 . llEFI�iITIUNS. TrTher�ev�r in this Urdinance
the following terms or words are used, tllcy shall have ascribed
to th�m the following meanin�s:
Goods - All personal property perrnitted by law to be
transported on the public stre�ts and hi�;hw�s.
Park or Parking - To stand a vehicle for a period of time
�reater than is reasonably necessary for the actual loading or
unloading of passengers.
Passenger - Any p�rson other than the driver occupying
a vehicle.
Side, cr Side of Strcet - That portion of said stre�t
or highway lying immediately adjacent to and abutting the curb
linc of said stre�t or hi�hway.
Vehicle - Every device, upon which any person or �;oods
is, or may transported or drawn upon a str�ct or hi�hway.
Section 2. P�RKIP�G PRUHIbImED: llo person shall park
a vehicle on either sid� of Ivorth ���ain Street from Locizst Street
to Birch Street in the City of Canton, Illinois, except for an
interval of no longer than ten minutes for the purpose of un-
loading passen�;ers or ��oods.
Section 3 . �'OSTING CF SIGNS: The Superintendent of
Streets shall, imm�diately after the effective date of this
Ordinance, post si�ns alon; said streets apprising the public
of the provis�ons of this Crdinance.
Section 4. PEP;�.LTY: Any person who shall be found
�uilty of a violation of any of the provisions of this Urdin�.nce
snall be subject to a fine c�' not less thdn Five i�ollars (�5.�0)
nor more than �nro �Iundred Dollars (`�200.00) for �acri offense.
Section 5. �FFECTTV� D�17'E: This Ordinance shall be in
effect t�n days after its passage by the City �ouncil, approval
by the Tti�ayor and publication accordin; to law and aft�r the
posiinr; of signs as nrovided by Section 3 of this Ordinance.
