ORDINANCE NG. `��===�'
BE IT ORDAINED BY �HE CITY COUNCIL OF TH� CITY 0�+' CANT�N, ILLIN�IS:
Section 1 . EST�IBLISHMENT GF OFFICE. There is hereby
created the Office of Traffic Police which shall consist of ane
Traffic Offic�r who shall be appointed by the Mayor, sub�ect to
the approval and consent of the City Council.
Before he enters upon the duties of his office, he shall
take and subscribe to the oath provided by law for City Officers
and shall give bond to the City of Canton in the penal sum of
• One Thousand Dollars (�1 ,000.00� with a surety company authorized
� to do bu�iness in the State of Illinois, conditioned for the
` faithful performance of the duties of the office.

Section 2. DUTIES. The traffic Police Officer shall
maintain and repair parking meters and perform such other duties
as required by the Chief of Police, Mayor, Coznmittee on Legal and
Police or City Council.
Section 3 . SALARY. The Traffic Policeman shall r�ceive
an annual saQary of �� .�',�3�` and an annual clothing allowance
of $ �___,•
Section 4. EFF�CTIVE DATE. This Ordinance shall be in
effect fram and after its passage by the City Council and approval
by the Mayor.
