AN ORDINANCE C�OVEftNING THE DESTGN, CQNSTRUCTTON, ALTEKATION, EN-
I,ARGEMENT, EQUIPMENT, REPAIR, DEMOLITION, REMOVAL, CONVERSIQN, IISE,
QR MAINTENANCE OF ALL BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES: KN�WN AS THE BUILD-
ING CQDE, PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE QF PERI��ITS, CQLI�ECTTON OF� FEES,
MAKING OF INSPECTIONS: PROVIDTNG FOR PENALTIES F�R THE VIULATION
THEREOF: AND REPEAL2NG ALL OTHER ORDINANCES OR PAI�TS TI�REOF IN
CONFLTCT THEREWITH AS HEREIN NOTED.
BE IT ORDAINEp BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1. AD4PTTQN OF BUILDING CODE. That certain doc�ents, threa

hereto have been, on file in the offica of the City Clerk of tha City
of Canton, Illinois for the use and axamination of the public, baing
marked a.nd designated as the Builain� �fficials Conferenee of Americe,
?n�,. Basic Building Code, 1965 Edition, and Supplement No. 1, Approved
Changes-1966, as published by the Building Officials Conference of
America, Inc. , be and is hereby adopted as the Building Code of the
City of Canton, in the State of Illinois; f'or the control af buildings
and structures as herein provided; and each and all of the regulations,
provisions, penalties, conditions, and terms of the Buildin� �fficials
Confdrence of America, Inc. Basic Buildin� Code, 1965 Edition, and
Supplement No. 1 thereto, are hereby referred to, adopted, and made
a part hereof, as if fully set out in this 4rdinance, with the addi-
�ions, inssrtions, deletiona and changes, if any, proscribad in Seetion
2 of this Ordinance.

in the Basic Building Code (563-65-b6 pt. 5) , Appendix B. , Appendix C,
Appendi�t D. , Appendix F, and Appendix I, of the Building afficials
Conference of America, Inc. Basic Building Code, 1965 �dition, are
reviaed as get forth in Supplement No. 1-1966, referred to hereinabave
in Section 1 of thia Ordinanee.
SECTION 3. INCONSISTENT ORDINANCES REPEALED. That all other Ordinan-
cas or parts o; rd nancea of t e q o anto�, Illinois, in con-
fliet herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTTON !�. SAVING CLAUSE. TM.at nothin� in this Ordinance or in the
Building Cade� ere y adopted shall be construed to Offect any suit

liability incurred, or any causa or causes of aetion acquired or
axi�tin�, undar any act or Ordinance herebg rapealed as cited in
Section 3 of th3�s Ordinance; nor shall any �ust or le�al right or
remedy of any eharaeter be lost, impaired or affeeted by this Ordinance.
SECT�ON 5. �ATE OF EFFECT. This Ordinance shall be in effact ter�
