A RESOLUTION APPROVING A PROPOSAL FOR THE REPAIR OF THE
150,000 GALLON WATER TOWER BETWEEN THE CITY OF CANTON AND
PITTSBURG TANK & TOWER CO., INC.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois has reviewed the
terms of said Proposal, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof as
Exhibit A; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois has determined that it
is in the best interest of the City of Canton to approve said Proposal.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows:
1. That said Proposal, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof
as Exhibit A, is hereby approved pursuant to the terms and conditions set forth therein.
2. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its
passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois and approval by
the Mayor thereof.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, at a
regular meeting this 15th day of December, 1998, upon a roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Aldermen Shores, May, Nidiffer, Sarff, Nblleck, Hartford.
NAYS: None ,
ABSENT: Aldermen. Meade, Phillips.

In accordance with price, terms and conditions quoted below, we propose to furnish all labor, material,
equipment and insurance necessary to complete the following to a 150,000 gallon riveted elevated water
tank.
Remove the old insulation. Install an expansion joint on the interior complete with Neoprene gasket and %2
dresser coupling and then insta114" thick insulation with a PVC cover.
Repair two (2) broken brackets.
The above for the sum of ........................................................................$20,475.00
Twen Thousand Four Hundred Sevent -five Dollars and NO/100
This price is based on prevailing wage rates.
Alternate: Replace the small pipe with a 3' riser pipe complete with a 24" OSHA required
manway ...........................................................................................$35,200.00
Warning: Do not attach any additional loading to your tank/tower unless structural integrity is known to be
sufficient. For analysis call PT&T.
Terms: Upon Completion
THE PARTIES APPROVING THIS CONTRACT CERTIFY THAT THEY ARE FULLY AUTHORIZED TO DO SO, AND THAT ALL
LEGAL REQUIREMENTS HAVE BEEN COMPLIED WITH. YOU ARE HEREBY AUTHORIZED TO FURNISH ALL LABOR,
MATERIAL, EQUIPMENT AND INSURANCE REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THE WORK MENTIONED IN THE ABOVE PROPOSAL,
FOR WHICH THE UNDERSIGNED AGREES TO PAY THE AMOUNT MENTIONED IN SAID PROPOSAL AND ACCORDING TO
THE TERMS THEREOF.
