REGULAR M�ETINGS. The Re�u.l.ar Meetings of the City Council of said City shall be hsld in the Council Chamber at the City Building located at 210 East Chestn Street, Canton, Illinois, on the first and third Tuesdays �!j�„�� of each month a �'�«Od P. M., exeept when said Tuesday shall be a public holicl�y �'�- or a day upon wh a �eneral or special election shall be held, then the Coun- cil shall meet on the next �zesday following at the sam.e time �.nd place. Ad- journed meetings shall be held for the purpose of completing the unfinished business of the regular meeting at such time or times as may be determined by the Council, provided, however, that the re�ul.ar reports of officers and claims against the City shall be presented at the :£irst meeting in each month only. Section 2. SPECIAL MEETING5. Special meetings of the City Council may be aalled by the A7ayor or any three Alderrnen, whenever in their discretion they may deem it necessary, in which event such meeting shall be called in the following manner: The Mayor, or three Aldermen, as the case may be� shall file in the City Clerk�s office a statement in writing setting forth the ob3ect and ,..�' purpoae of such special meetin� and directing the Clerk to give notice of the same. Upon the filing of such statement, the City Clerk shall cause to be served persona,lly upon each member of the Council� or leave at his uaual place of buainess, a notice of such special meeting, setting forth the object and pur- pose thereof and the time of holding the same. No bus3ness other than that mentioned in the call shall be transacted at such special meeting. Section 3. MEETINGS TO BE PUBLIC. A7.1 regular and Special Meetings of the Gity Council, including Comm3.ttee Meetings of said Council� shall be public meetings� except where otheswaise provided by the Statutes of the State of Tllinois. Section 4. PtTBLIC NOTICE. The City Clerk shall give public notice of the schedule of regular meetings of the City Council at the beginning of ea,ch fiscal year which public notice shall state the regu].ar dates, times and places of such meetings. Public notice of a,ny special meeting, or of any re-scheduled regular meeting or re-convened m�eeting, shall be given at least 21i. hours before such meeting. However� this requirement of re-convened meetings does not apply where the meeting ia to be re-convened within 24 hours� nor to any case where announcement of the xe-convened meeting was made at the origina.l meeting and there is no change in the agenda. The City Clerk shall give public notice as above required, by posting a copy of the Notica in the City Bu3lding located at 210 East Chestnut Street, Canton, Illinoia. The City Clerk shall supply copies of the notice of the regu- lar meetings of the City Council, and of the notiae of any special� re�seheduled or re-convened meeting to any local newspaper of general circulation, or any local radio or television station that has filed an ar�nua.l request for such notice. Any such news media shall also be given the same notice of all special, re-scheduled or re-conv�ned meetings in the same manner as given to members af the City Council� provided such news media has given �the City Clerk an address within the corporate limits of the City of Ganton, Illinois. In addition to the above requirements at the beginning of each fiscal year� the City Clerk shall prepare and make available a schedule of all of its regul.ar meetings of the City Council for such fiscal year, listing the times and places o� such meetings. � _ � . , �� � , . . � . ,. If a change is made in regular meeting dates� at least 10 days notice of such change shall be given by publication in a newspaper of general circulat3on in the City of Canton, Illinois� bgr posting such notice in the Ci.ty Building and supply such notice to any news media which have filed an annual. request with the City Clerk as above provided. Seetion 5. REPEAL. Any pr3or Ordinance or part thereof which is in conflict with any of the provisions of this Ordinance or any part thereof be and the same is hereby repealed. Section 6. EFFECTNE DATE. This Ordinance sha11 be in effeet after its passage by the City Council and approval by the Mayor. PASSED by the City Council and approved by the Mayor thiso��.''�� day of November A.
