ORDINANCE NQ. �7 �.
AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE PURCHASE OR POSSESSION
OF ALCOHOLIC LIQUORS BY MINORS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person under twenty-one (21)
years of age to purchase ar to have in his or her possession within the Cor-
porate limits of the City of Canton, Illinois, any alcoholic liquor as defined
by Chapter XXIII, Section 1 , Pa.ragraph (e) of the Revised Ordinances of the
City of Canton, Illinois� 1959.
Section 2. Whoever violates any provisions of this Ordina.nce sha11 be
pe penalized by a fine of not less than Fifty Dollars (�50.00) nor more than
Two Hundred Dollars (�200.00).
Section 3. The possession and dispensing or consuming by a minor of
alaoholie liquor in the performance of a religious ceremony or the consumpticsn
by a minor under the direetion or di.reet supervision and approval of the
parents or parent of suah minor in the pr3.vacy of a home is not prohibited by
this Ordinance.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall be in force ten (10) days after its
passage 'by the City Council� approval by the Mayor, and publication accordirg
to law.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Ca.nton, Illinois, and approved
