ORDINANCE N0. 2��- _
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CANTON, ILLIN4IS :
1. Unless now or hereafter otherwise provided by
Statute of the State of Illinois, residency within the corporate
limits of the City of Canton, Illinois shall not be a condition
f or employment for any employee of said City; provided, however,
equally qualified citizens and electors residing in said City
sha11 be given preference for employment by said City over persons
not so residing.
2. Unless now or hereafter otherwise provided by
Statute of the State of I1linois, no person employed by the City
of Canton, Illinois shall be required to reside within the
corporate limits of said City provided, however, that no person
employed by said City shall reside more than ten . miles
beyond the corporate limits of said City as the same now or may
hereafter exist.
3. This Ordinance shall be in effect ten days after
its passage by the City Council, approval by the Mayor.
PASSED by the City Council and approved by the Mayor
this 21.st day of Octooer , A.D. 1969.
