BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON,
ILLINOIS :
Section 2 of Ordinance No. 262, passed by the City Council
and approved by the Mayor December 7, 1969 is hereby amended to
read as follows :
"'Section 2. DISCHARGE OF WEAPONS AND FIREARMS. It
shall be unlawful for any person to discharge any
firearm or any weapon capable of being discharged within
the corporate limits of the City of Canton, Illinois ,
except that firearms may be discharged for military
funerals an d other patriotic observances and, excepting
further, that nothing contained in this Section shall
be construed to make unlawful the discharge of a
firearm or weapon capable of being discharged by a
peace officer while in the performance of his duties
as such. "
This amendatory Ordinance shall be in effect from and after
its passage by the City Council and approval by the Mayor.
