ORDINANCE N0. �=� —
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS :
SECTION 1 : That parking meter zones (as defined by the
Ordinances of the City of Canton, Illinois) for the parallel parking
of motor vehicles on the West Side of North Main Street between
Locust and Chestnut Streets in the City of Canton, Illinois are hereby
established commencing at a point not less than 170 feet south of the
center of the intersection of North Main end Locust Street and thence
along the West side of North Main Street to Chestnut Street in places
not otherwise prohibited by law.
SECTION 2: That the Superintendent of Streets , under the
direction of the City Engineer, shall cause to be marked, by distinct
lines , parking stalls designating the places where vehicles may be
parallel parked as set forth in the preceding Sect ion and, further,
shall place a parking meter (as defined by the Ordinances of the City
of Canton, Illinois) for each of such parking meter zone or stall
so marked (as provided by the Ordinances of the City of Canton, Illinois.)
SECTION 3 : That this Ordinance sha11 be in eff ect ten days
after its passage by the City Council, approval of the Mayor, and
publication according to law.
PASSED by the City Council and approved by the Mayor this
