WHEREAS� it appears and is determined by the City Council of the City of Ganton�
Illinois that the public interest will be subserved by vacating that portion of East
Locust Street in said City as hereinafter described; and�
Wf�IER�'.AS, that portion of said Street has not and will not be used for street purp-
ose�; and�
WHER�AS, the relief of the public from further burden and responsibility of main-
taining said street constitutes a public use and public interest authorizing its vacatiON�
N(�nT' TF-IEREFORE, BE IT ORP_A�NF� BY THE MAYOR ��ND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAl'�TON�

Section 1. Subject to the reservation hereinafter set forth, that portion of East
Locust Street in the City of Canton� Fulton County� Tllinois� described as follows� be�
and the same is hereby vacated� to-wit:
A Part of the SE 1/l.G of Sec. 26, T 7 N, R 1t E� 1�th Ffi�, Fulton County, Illinois�
described as follows: C�nmencing at the IVorthwest corner of the intersection of East
Locust Street and North Fourteenth Avenue in the City of Canton� Illinois� t hsnce Westerly
along the North ftight-of=�Tay line of said East Locust Street a distance of 133 feat;
thence South to the South Right-of�'ay line of said East Locust Street; t�hence Easterly
along the South ftight-of Way line of said East Locust Street a distance of 133 feet� more
or les� to the Southwest corner of the i.ntersection of said East Locust Street and North
Fourteenth Avenue; thence Northerly to the poirit of beginning� situated in the City of
Canton, County of Fulton and State of Illinois.
Section 2. That the right to ma3ntain� renew or reconstruct ar� public utility or
facility in tha.t portion of the street so vacated shall be� and the same hereby is reserved
in and to the City of Canton, Sllinois o�r the public utility awni.ng said utility or
facility and said City and said public utility shall have an ease3nent or right of way
for the maintenanca� rene�wal� or reconstruction thereof.
Section 3. �t �p� �e I�assage of this Ordinance as required by law� this Ordirance
shalx becane effective, a nd the title to that portion of East Locust Street in the City
of Cs�nton� Z113nois� as above described, so vacated, shall vest in the awners of the
land�abutting thereon as provided for by the Statutes of the State of Il7..t�nois� as in
such cases made and provided� subject� however, to the reservations set forth in Section 2
of this Ordinance.
Section 4. That the City Clerk of the City of eanton� Illinois, shall file with
the County 8ecorder of Fulton County, Illinois a certified copy of tkiis Ordinance.
