ORDINANCE NO. ���
ORDINANCE VACATING ALLEY LYING IN REALTY LOCA'IE D
BETWEEN NORTH MAIN AND NORTH FIRST AVENUE AND
EAST MYRTLE AND EAST VINE STREET
vVHEREAS, it appears and is deter.mined by the City Council of the City
of Canton, that the public interest will be subserved by vacating that portion of
the alley lying in said City of Canton as hereinafter described; and,
WHEREAS, that portion of the al.ley has not and will not be used for
street purposes, and,
WHEREAS, the relief of the public fro.m any burden and responsibility
of maintaining said alley constitutes a public use and public interest authorizing
its vacation,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS:
Sectian 1. Subject to the reservation hereinafter set forth, that portion
of the alley lying between Main and First and Myrtle and Vine Streets in the
City of Canton, County of Fulton, Illinois, described as follows, be, and the
saxr�e is hereby vacated, to-wit:
A sixteen (16) foot alley, platt�ed in A. L. Cole.man�s
Addition to the City of Canton, which lies between
Lots 13, 14, 15 and Lots 18, 19, 20, .more
particularly described as follows: Co.m.mencing at
the Northeast corner of Lot 20 in A, L. Colernan�s
Ad4�ition to the City of Canton, thence running South
166 feet, thence East 16 feet, thence North 166 feet,
thence West 16 feet to the place of beginning.
Section 2. That the right to maintain, renew or reconsstruct any public
utility or facility in any portion of the alley, or part, thereof, so vacated shall
