WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of
Canton, Illinois that the territory hereinafter described is not
within the corporate limits of any municipality but is contiguous
to the City of Canton, Illinois ; and,
WHEREAS, it further appears to the said City Council that
all the electors residing in said territory hereinafter described
and the owners of record of all the land within said territory
have requested that it be annexed to said City, as shown by the
records of this Council ;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS :
SECTION l. The territory described as follows :
A part of the East half of t he South half of the
Southwest Quarter of Section 34, T 7 N, R 4 E of
the 4th Principal Meridian, Fulton County, Illinois�
described as follows :
Commencing at a point 212.8 feet West of the Southeast
corner of the Southwest Quarter of Section 34, T 7 N,
R 4 E of the 4th Principal Meridian; thence North 200
feet ; thence East 212.8 feet ; thence South 200 feet
to the South Line of said Section 34; thence West
212.8 feet to the point of beginning, containing one
acre, more or less, situated in the County of Fulton
in the State of Illinois,
BE AND IT IS HEREBY ANNEXED to the City of Canton, Illinois.
SECTION 2. That this realty be zoned R-1 under the
Ordinances of this City.
SECTION 3. That a certified copy of this Ordinance,
together with an accurate map of the territory above described,
shall be recorded with the Recorder of Deeds � Fulton County, Illinois.
SECTION 4. That this Ordinance shall be in effect from
and after a two-thirds "aye" and "no"' vote of the City Council
of the City of Canton, Illinois, and approval by the Mayor.
PASSED, APPROVED BY THE MAYOR, AND EFFECTIVE December
5, 1972. _
