WHEREAS , i t appea rs to the C i ty Counc i o�fi t�ie � i��y
of Canton , Illinois , that the territory hereinafter descrlbed
is not within the corporate limits of any municipality but is
contiguous ta the City of Canton , Itlinols ; and
WHEREAS it further appears to the said City Council
that all the electors residing in said territory hereinafter
described and the owners of record of all the land within said
territory have requested that it be annexed to said City , as
shown by the records of this Council ;
NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CANTON , ILLINOIS :
SECTION 1 . The territory described as follows :
A part of the South Half of the Southeast Quarter
of Section 10, Township 7 North , Range 4 East of
the Fourth Principal Meridian , more particularly
described as follows :
From the Southeast corner of Section 10 , Town and
Range aforesaid , thence West 985 . 6 feet to the
point of beginning ; f�om said point of beginning
thence West 38�+ . 73 feet , thence Northerly 23 . 15
feet , thence Northwesterly 37 . 2 feet , thence
Northeasterly along the East right-of-way line
of Route 78 on a curve having a radius of 3497. 75
feet and an arc of 411 .48 feet , thence East 344 . 7
feet , thence South 460 . 0 feet to the point of be-
ginning , containing 3 .89 acres , more or less ,
situated in the County of Fulton , State of Illi -
nois ,
BE AND IT IS HEREBY ANNEXED to the City of Canton ,
Illinois .
SECTION 2 . That a certlfied copy of this Ordinance , together with
an accurate map of the territory above described , shall
be recorded with the Recorder of Deeds , Fulton County ,
Illinois .
SECTION 3 . That this Ordinance shall be in effect from and after a
two-thirds "aye" and "no" vote of the City Council of
the City of Canton , illinois , and approval by the Mayor .
PASSED , APPROVED BY THE MAYOR , AND EFFECTIVE NOVEMBER 14 , 1972 .
