WHEREAS it appears to the City Council of the City of
Canton , Illinois , that the territory hereinafter described is with-
in the corporate limits of said municipaifty , and that the owners
thereof have appeared before the Planning and Zoning Commission of
said City , requesting that said property be re-zoned from R-1 , Resi -
dentfal , to B-2 , Business , and that said hearing before the Planning
and Zoning Commission has been held in proper form and pursuant to
proper notice, and that this Council has the power and authority to
regulate zoning ; and
WHEREAS it further appears to the said Cfty Council that
a majority of the tot owners � n the immedtate vicinfty of said real
estate have consented to the re-zoning ; and
WHEREAS Tt further appears that there are other mercan-
tile uses in the immediate vicinity of said real estate , and that
said re-zoning from R- 1 , Resfdential , to B-2 , Business , would not
adversely affect the values of adjacent properttes ;
NOW, TNEREFORE , BE fT ORDAINED BY THE CfTY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CANTON , ILLIN015 :
SECTION 1 . That the territory described as follows :
Lots 355 , 370 , 371 , and 386 , WRIGHT ' S ADDITION to the
City of Canton , EXCEPT the East 57 • 5 feet of Lots 371
and 386 in said Wright ' s Addition , all in the City of
Canton , County of Fulton , State of Illinois ,
BE AND IT IS HEREBY RE-ZONED B-2 , BUSINESS.
SECTtON 2 . That the zoning map of the City of Canton , Illinois , as
previously adopted by the City Council of the City of
Canton , Illinois , by ordinance , be amended in conform-
ity with the provisions of this ordinance .
SECTION 3 . That this ordtnance shall be in effect from and after
a two-thirds "aye" and "no" vote of the City Council
of the City of Canton , Illinois , and approval by the
Mayor .
PASSED by a two-thirds "aye" and "no" vote of the City Council and
APPROVED by the Mayor this� day of May , 1g72 .
