WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City
of Canton, Illinois, that the territory hereinafter described is
partially within and partially without the city limits and that the
portion located within said limits is zoned R -2, Residential, but
that the Planning and Zoning Commission of said City has
recommended that the zoning be changed on the entire described
tract to R -4, Multiple Residential, subject only to the subsequent
submission and approval of a site plan; and
It further appearing to the said City Council that all of the
requisites for re- zoning said property have been met and that a
public hearing was held on October 4, 1971, and that the holder of
an Option to Purchase the following described land has requested
the conditional re- zoning to R -4, Multiple Residential;
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That the territory described in Exhibit "A. ",
attached hereto and made a part hereof, be, and the same is hereby
re -zoned to R -4, Multiple Residential.
Section 2. Construction pursuant to R -4 zoning shall not be
commenced until approval by the Planning and Zoning Commission of an
approved site plan for said proposed construction, and report to this Council.
Section 3. That a copy of this Ordinance shall be filed with the
City Clerk.
Section 4. That this Ordinance shall be in effect from
and after a majority vote of the City Council of the City of Canton,
Illinois, and approval by the Mayor.
