AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE USE OF THE CITY OF CANTON,
ILLINOIS LAND FILL BY OTHER MUNICIPALITIES

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON,
ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1. That no municipality, other than the City of
Canton, Illinois, shall be permitted to haul garbage, trash or
debris and deposit the same in and upon the land fill operated by
said City without first having paid the permit fee hereinafter
provided.
SECTION 2. That any such municipality, desiring to use
said land fill as aforesaid, shall first pay a monthly permit fee,
in advance, of one - twelvth (1/12) of $2.00 per capita of its population
as determined by the last census.
SECTION 3. That the permit fee hereinabove provided shall
be paid monthly in advance to the City Clerk at the City Building
of said City and that said City Clerk shall thereupon issue a receipt
showing payment of the permit fee for the applicable month.
SECTION 4. That the permit fee herein provided shall be
first made and paid for the month of November, 1971 and each month
thereafter and that the operator of the land fill of said City
shall, commencing on the 1st day of November, 1971 and on the lst
day of each month thereafter, require proof of such payment by any
such municipality using said land fill.
SECTION 5. Any person or legal entity found guilty of a
violation of this Ordinance shall be subject to a fine of not less
than $100.00 for each offense.
SECTION 6. This Ordinance shall be in effect ten days
after its passage by the City Council, approval by the Mayor and
publication according to law.
