HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance #349First readingi 7/27/71 Laid over ORDINANCE NO. 319 AN ORDINANCE REGULATING PARKING AND CONTROLLING TRAFFIC ON VARIOUS STREETS IN THE CITY OF CANTON, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS: SECWN 1. That no motor vehicle shall be parked (as defined by the Ordinances of the City of Canton, Illinois) on the North side of West Hickory Street in the City of Canton, Illinois, from the West curb line of South Main Street to the East curb line of South Avenue B. SECTION 2. That no motor vehicle shall be parked (as defined by the Ordinances of the City of Canton, Illinois) on the West side of South Main Street in the City of Canton, Illinois from the South curb line of East Cherry Street (as extended) to the North curb line of West Tamarack Street. SECTION 3. That no motor vehicle shall be parked (as defined by the Ordinances of the City of Canton, Illinois) on either of East Pine Street between the East curb line of South Second Avenue and the West curb line of Van Buren Court. SECTION 4. That a stop sign shall be posted at the South- east corner of the intersection of Johnson Court and West Vine Street in the City of Canton, Illinois and, whenever a driver of a vehicle shall approach West Vine Street, he shall bring his vehicle to a complete.stop and then proceed with caution when a safe interval occurs. SECTION 5. That a stop sign shall be posted at the North- west corner of the intersection of Johnson Court and West Spruce Street in the City of Canton, Illinois, and, whenever a driver of a vehicle shall approach West Spruce Street, he shall bring his vehicle to a complete stop and then proceed with caution when a safe interval occurs. SECTION 6. Any person found guilty of a violation of this Ordinance shall be subject to a fine of not leas than Five dollars ($5.00) nor more than Two hundred dollars ($200.00). SECTION 7. This Ordinance shall be in effect ten days after its passage by the City Council, approval by the Mayor and publication according to law.
