WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City
of Canton, Illinois, that the territory hereinafter described is
not within the corporate limits of any municipality but is con-
tiguous to the City of Canton, Illinois; and
WHEREAS it further appears to the said City Council
that all the electors residing in said territory hereinafter
described and the owners of record of all the land within said
territory have requested that it be annexed to said City, as
shown by the records of this Council;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That the territory described as follows:
The West 195 feet of the East 228 feet of the
Northeast Quarter of Section 15, Township 7
North, Range 4 East of the Fourth Principal
Meridian; and
Beginning at a point 228 feet West of the
Northeast corner of Section 15, Township 7
North, Range 4 East of the Fourth Principal
Meridian, thence South 1 degree 20 minutes
58 seconds West a distance of 600 feet, thence
West 145 feet, thence North 1 degree 20 minutes
58 seconds East a distance of 600 feet, thence
East 145 feet to the point of beginning,
all situated in the County of Fulton and State
of Illinois,
BE AND IT IS HEREBY ANNEXED to the City of Canton,
Illinois.
Section 2. That a certified copy of this Ordinance, together
with an accurate map of the territory above des-
cribed, shall be recorded with the Recorder of
Deeds of Fulton County, Illinois.
Section 3. That this Ordinance shall be in effect from and
after a two- thirds "aye" and "no" vote of the City
Council of the City of Canton, Illinois, and appro-
val by the Mayor.
PASSED by a two- thirds "aye" and "no" vote of the City Council and
