WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City
of Canton, Illinois that the territory hereinafter described
is zoned R -1, Residential, but that the Planning and Zoning
Commission of said City has recommended that the zoning
be changed to R -4, Multiple Residential; and
It further appearing to the said City Council that all
of the requisites for rezoning said property have been met and
that there were no objectors at the public hearing held on May 3,
1971, and that the owner of the following described land has
requested that it be re -zoned from R -1, Residential, to R -4,
Multiple Residential;
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS:
Section 1, That the territory described as:
A part of the Northwest Quarter of Section 3,
Township 6 North, Range 4 East of the Fourth
Principal Meridian, more fully described as follows:
Beginning at a point 577. 5 feet South of a stone
located at the Northeast corner of said Northwest
Quarter, thence West 322 feet, thence South 600
feet, thence East 322 feet, thence North 600 feet
to the place of beginning,
be, and the same is hereby rezoned from R -1, Residential, to
R -4, Multiple Residential.

Section 2. That a copy of this Ordinance shall be
filed with the City Clerk and proper changes be effected
on the zoning maps of the City of Canton, Illinois.
Section 3. That this Ordinance shall be in effect
from and after a majority vote of the City Council of the
City of Canton, Illinois, and approval by the Mayor.
PASSED by a majority vote of the City Council and
approved by the Mayor on this day of May, A. D. 1971.
