HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance #339ORDINANCE NO. -# 2.3 f� AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING AND PLACING STOP SIGNS BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS: SECTION 1. That "Yield" right -of -way signs shall be removed from the Southwest and Northeast corners of South Second Avenue and Holly Street in the City of Canton, Illinois and that stop signs shall be posted at each of the Southwest and Northeast corners of South Second Avenue and Holly Street in said City and, whenever the driver of a vehicle on Holly Street shall approach South Second Avenue from either direction he shall bring his vehicle to a complete stop and then proceed with caution when a safe interval occurs. SECTION 2. That a stop sign shall be posted at the Southeast corner of Park Court and West Walnut Street in the City of Canton, Illinois and whenever the driver of a vehicle proceeding north on Park Court shall approach West Walnut Street he shall bring his vehicle to a complete stop and then proceed with caution when a safe interval occurs. SECTION 3. That a stop sign shall be posted at the Southeast corner of Hipple Court and Cass Place in the City of Canton, Illinois and whenever the driver of a vehicle proceeding north on Hipple Court shall approach Cass Place he shall bring his vehicle to a complete stop and then proceed with caution when a safe interval occurs. SECTION 4. That the proper officials of the City shall post appropriate signs informing persons of this Ordinance and in implementation thereof. SECTION 5. Any person found guilty of a violation of this Ordinance shall be subject to a fine of mt less than Five Dollars ($5.00) nor more than Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00). SECTION 6. This Ordinance shall be in effect ten days after its passage by the City Council, approval by the Mayor and publication according to law.
