HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance #329ORDINANCE NO. 3 ,2 WHEREAS, the City of Canton, Illinois is the owner of territory, hereinafter described, which is uninhabited and which is contiguous to said City; and, WHEREAS, it is to the best interests of said City and its citizens that said territory be annexed to said City and dedicated to the public as a road for use as a right of way of travel, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT AND IT HEREBY IS ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS AS FOLLOWS: 1. That the territory desdribed as follows: Commencing at a concrete post on the Went Right -of -Way line of the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad, and being 1448.5 feet North of the South line of Section 229 Township 7 North, Range 4 East of the 4th Principal Meridian, Fulton County, Illinois, and being on the existing corporation line of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois, thence North along the said Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad West Right -of -Way lie to the public road on the East and West Quarter of Section 139 Township 7 North, Range 4 East of the 4th Principal Meridian, Fulton County, Illinois, a distance of 6319.9 feet, more or less; thence West along the South line of said public road 98 felt; thence South 43° 56' 30" East 68.2 feet; thence South 2383 feet to the South line of Section 15 aforesaid to n rOiPt 50 feet West of the West Right -of -Way line of said Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad; thence West 10 feet; thence South 3886.9 feet on a line 60 feet West of the West Right -of -Way line of said Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad to the existing corporation line of the City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois; thence East 60 feet to the point of beginning, containing 8.181-4D acres, more or less, situated in the County of Fulton in the State of Illinois, be and it hereby is annexed to the City of Canton, Illinois. 2. That said territory or realty be and it hereby is dedicated to the public as a road for use as a right of way of travel. -3. That a certified copy of,-this Ordinance, together with an accurate map of the territory above described, together with the c,qrtificate thereof, shall be recorded with the Recorder of Deeds of Fulton County, Illinois. 4. That this Ordinance shall be in effect from and after a two- thirds "aye" and "no" vote of the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois, and approval by the Mayor.
