To annex certain property immediately
North and West of Art and Gene's Chevrolet -
Olds- Cadillac, Inc.
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of
Canton, Illinois, that the territory hereinafter described is not a part of
any municipality but is contiguous to the municipality of the City of Canton
and that a Petition has been duly filed for the annexation thereof, and
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City
of Canton has recommended to the City Council that said territory be annexed
to the municipality of the City of Canton, and
WHEREAS, this property is immediately contiguous to B -2
activities and should be zoned B -2 in accordance with the Petition filed
herein.
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That the territory described as follows:
Part of the South Half, Section 15, T7N, R4E, Fourth
P. M. , Fulton County, Illinois, being more particularly
described as follows: Beginning at a concrete marker at
the Northwest corner, Southeast Quarter said Section 15;
thence N 89 °16' 40" E, 415. 85 feet to an iron pin on the
Westerly R -O -W line of Illinois Route 78; thence S 240
18139" E, 69. 98 feet to a concrete marker at a point of-
intersection with a curve on said R -O -W line; thence along
said curve 73. 92 feet, .with a chord of -S 2 °35'42" W, 73. 92
feet, to an iron pin; thence N 89 °49105" W, 451. 70 feet to
an iron pin; thence S 0010155" W, 193. 00 feet to an iron
pin; thence N 89 049105" W, 230. 00 feet to an iron pin; thence
S 35 048102" W, 252. 90 feet to an iron pin; thence N 2 95121"
E, 348. 70 feet to an iron pin; thence N 8 042149" E, 91. 10
feet to an iron pin; thence S 89 °49105" E, 359. 12 feet to an
iron pin; thence N 0010155" E, 91. 10 feet to the point of
beginning, containing 3. 623 acres.

be and the same is hereby annexed to the City of Canton, Illinois.
Section 2. That this property be and the same is hereby
zoned B -2, General Business District.
Section 3. That a certified copy of this ordinance together
with an accurate map of the territory above described shall be recorded
with the Recorder of Deeds of Fulton County, Illinois.
Section 4. That this ordinance shall be effective after a
majority vote of the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois, and approval
by the Mayor.
PASSED by a majority vote of the City Council and approved
