(AN ORDIlVANCE PROVIDING FOR METERED, ANGULAR PARKIlVG ON A PORTION OF
SOUTH SECOND AVIIVUE IN THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS)
BE IT ORDAIlVED BY THE CITY CaUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON,
ILLINOIS :

SECTION l. That/spaces for the angular parking of motor
vehicles be marked off and designated by suitable markings on the
south side of South Seco nd Avenue in the City of Canton, Illinois
between the south curb line of East Elm Street and the alley thereto
southerly next adjacent.
SECTION 2. That parking meters be installed for each of
the parking spaces so provided and that any person ut�lizing such
spaces for the purpose of thereon parking a motor vehicle shall
deposit the sum of one cent in advance for each 12 minutes of
continuous parking or the sum of five cents in advance for each
60 minutes of continuous parking.
SECTION 3. That the Superintendent of Streets shall cause
the parking spaces herein contemplated to be designated and plainly
marked and shall cause the installation of the parking meters herein
contemplated.
SECTION 4. Every person convicted of a violation of this
Ordinance shall be punished by a fine of not less than Five Dollars
and not more than �ao Hundred Dollars, provided, however, that such
person may pay a fine therefor of Fifty cents within 24 hours of any
such violation or a fine therefor of �1.00 after the 24 hour period
following any violation of this �rdinance and until the filing of a
complaint therefor in a Court of competent jurisdiction.
SECTION 5. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
upon its passage by the. City Council , approval by the Mayor and
publication according to law.
