WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of
Canton, Illinois, that the territory hereinafter described has hereto-
fore been zoned as B-1 and/or B-2 by the City of Canton, Illinois;
and
WHEREAS, it further appearing to the said City Council
that a public hearing with no objectors present was held on January
14, 1974, by the Planning and Zoning Commission of said City, which
has unanimously recommended that the l�reinafter described property
be rezoned B-2 for the exc�.�isive commercial use as a welding shop;
and
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of
Canton, Illinois, that said property should be rezoned to B-2, General
Business District, for use as a welding shop only.
THl�'a'REFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF CANTON, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That the territory described as follows:
A part of the Southeast Cluarter of Section 28 in
Township 7 North, Range 4 East of the Fourth
Principal Meridian, Fulton County, Illinois, described
as follows: Beginning at a point 100 feet West
of a stone situated on the South line of the North
Half of the Northeast Quarter of the 3outheast
Quarter of Section 28, running thence South 103. 33
feet to the North Highway right-of-way line of
new Route 9, thence Westerly, along said
right-of-way 1ine, 215. 5 feet, thence North to
the South right-of-way line of o1d State Route 9,
155. 5 feet, thence ;$outhettsterly, along said South
right-of-way line of o1d Route 9, 200 feet to the point
of beginning;
be, and the same is hereby rezoned to B-2.

Saction 2. That t�ie utilization of said property i3i the
B-2 district shall be for a welding shop on1y.
Section 3. That proper changes sha.11 be effected upon the
zoning maps of this City by the City C1erk and the City Engineer.
Section 4. That this Ordinance sha11 be in effect from and
after a majority vote of the City Council of the City of Canton,
Illinois, and approval by the Mayor.
