W h e r e a s , it appears to the City Council of the City of ,
Canton, Illinois, that the territory herein described is not now within
the corporate limits of any municipality but is contiguous to the City of
Canton; and,
W h e r e a s , it further appearing to the City Council that the "
sole elector residing on said premises and all of the equitable owners of ;

said premises have requested that said premises be annexed to the City
of Canton, as shown by the records of this Council.
Now , Therefore , Be It Ordained by the City
Council of the City of Canton, Illinois:
Section 1. That the premises described as follows:
A part of the Southwest Quarter of Section 28,
Township 7 North, Range 4 East of the Fourth
Principal Meridian, Fulton County, Illinois,
described as follows:
Beginning at the Northeast corner of the South-
west Quarter of Section 28, Town and Range
aforesaid, running thence South along the East
line of said Quarter Section to the center line of
the new State Highway known as State Bond Issue
Route 9, Construction 41-2, Fulton County,
thence ruru�ing in a Northwesterly direction on a
curve along the centerline of the aforesaid state
highway to its intersection with the North line of
said Southwest Quarter of Section 28, thence run-
ning East along the North line of the Southwest
Quarter of Section 28 to the paint of beginning,
excepting therefrorn those portions which
are heretofore granted, conveyed or dedicated for
highway purposes, containing 1�2/3 acres, more
or less;
(said premises being located on West Locust Limits,
Canton, Illinois, immediately North of Route 9 on
the West edge of the City of Canton, Illinois),

be, and the same is hereby annexed to the City of Canton, Illinois. �

Section 2. That a certified copy of this Ordinance shall be re� �

corded with the Recorder of Deeds of Fulton County,Illinois, together
with an accurate map of the territory above described.
Section 3. That this property shall be zoned B-2 (General
Business District).
Section 4. That this Ordinance shall be in effect from and after
a two�thirds "aye" and "no" vote of the City Council of the City of Can-
ton, Illinois, and approval by the Mayor.
