(An Ordinance naming and designationg a certain public road as "Twentieth
Avenue" in the City of Canton, Illinois insofar as the same now is or
may hereafter be within said City. )
Whereas, a certain public road in place runs in a northerly-southerly
direction throu�h the center of Section 25 in Canton Township, Fulton County,
Illinois and makes its crossing or intersection with East Chestnut Street in
the City of Canton, Illinois; and�
Whereas, the corporaa�e authorities of said City are now purposed to
establish and provide an official name for said public road as the same now is
or may hereafter be encompGssed with tre corporete li::iits of said City,
NOW, THEREFORE, be,� it , and it hereby is ordained by the City Council of
the City of Canton, Illinois, as follows:
That said public road, in so far as the same nor is or may hereafter be
encompassed within the corporate limits of the City of Canton, Illin�is, be and
the sdme hereby is officially named and designated as "Twentieth Avenue"; and,
Th�t the proper officials of this City now, and from tima to time hereafter
as the need arises, take such steps as may be to mark said public road by its
name herein provided and in conformity with the customs and practices established
for the marking and c�esignation of other steets or roads within this City.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois and AFPROVED
by the Mayor thereof this � day of February, l�`75.
