ORDINANCE N�. _-�
(An Ordinance amending Ordinance No. 459 (being an Ordinance establishing
salaries and providing for certain beneFits for certain employees of the
City of Canton, Illinois for the fiscal year commencing May, 1974) in eo
far as the same relates to the salarq of Lieua�tenants employed in the Fire
Department of the City of Canton, Illinois. )
Whereas, Section 1 of At�ticle II (entitled '�FIRE DEPARTMENT") of sub-
section b. of Section 3 (entitled "FULL TIME EMPLOYEES) of Ordinance No. 459
of this City in part provided; ��To the basic weekly salary of each Lieutenant
who is regularly stationed at any eub-fire station of this City $hall be
added and paid the further weekly sum of $8.53. ., .��; and,
Wherea$� the figure o� $$.53 should have been $10.53; and,
Whereas, the Corporate authorities of the Cit9 of Canton, Illinois are
desirou� ot rectifying this error to the end that the per,sons to such pay be
paid the incrament or deficiency of salary to which they otherwi$e would have
received,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY CpUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON,
ILLINOIS:
1. That the figure of $8.53 above quoted b� and the same hereby is
amended to the figure of $10.53 and that said Ordinance No. 459 b� and the same
her�by i,s amended accordingly.
Z. That this amendatory Ordinance be and the same hereby is effectine
retroactively to the effectine date of said Ordinance No. 459.
3. That the employees of this City who shall have qualified as'�Lieutenants"
during the 1974 fi�eal year of this City, as that term is used in said JlfBrdinance
No. 459, be retroactively paid that salary increase bq this amendatory Ordinance
provided during that portion of the 1974 fiscal year of this City during which
time they held the position of '�Lieutenant'� within the meaning of said Ordinance
No. 45g.
4. That the proper officials of this City make the retroactive salary
adjustment� herein contemplated forthwith.
PASSED by the City Countil of the City of Canton, Illinois and APPROVED
by the Mayor thereof this 7th day of May, 1975.
