(AN ORDINANCE MODIFYING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE CANTON, ILI,INOIS FIRE
DEPARTMENT AND PROVIDING FOR THE RANK OF LIEUTENANT TI3EREIN. )
Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois
as follows:
Section 1. That subsection (A) of Section 5-1-1 (DEPARTMENT ESTABLISHED) ,
of Chapter 1 (FIF2E DE1'ARTMENT; ADMINISTRATION) ; of Title 5 (FIRE) of the
Canton Municipal Code be, and the same hereby is amended to read as follows,
to-wit:
"(A) Fire Department Established: There is hereby established an
executive department of the municipal government of the City which
shall be known as the Fire Department, and shall consist of one
Chief of the Fire Department, �tv�to (�) assistant chiefs, six (6)
Lieutenants, and nine (g) firemen."
Section 2. That this Ordinance sha11 be in full force and effect
upon its passage by the City Council and approval by the I�ayor.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois and APPROVED
by the Mayor thereof this � day of ���, 1977.
