BE IT 0's:.�AINED by the City Council of the City of C�znton,
Illit�ois :
Se�tion l : That it shall l�e unlawful for any person to m�ke or
construct a private driveway for the use of ve�3ic�ilar traffic inta any
Public street in the City of Canton, I1.]_inois without first hava_ng
pr. ocured a permit therefor from the City �,rgineer of said Ci.ty.
Section G: That any �erson desirin�; to make or construc�; such
� private driveway sliall first make written 3�p�ication therefor and
shall thereafter proceed in such construction only when a �ermit therefor
has been received in writing from said City Engineer.
Section � : �hat the City En�ineer of this City shall either
issue or deny the permit , herein contemplated, witilin ten (10) days
of the applica.tion there£or, herein conter�plated.
Section 4: That any �erson who undertakes to make or cor.struct
such a Private driveway, �s herein contem�lated, without first having
nrocured the written permit �}�erefor, herein contemnlated, shall be
punished by a fine of n�t less than fifty dollars (f�0.00) nor more than
f�.�te hundred dollars (500.00) atacl that each day such a �rivate c?rive�aay
subsists without such a permit therefor shall be deemed a separate
offense which shall be punisl�.ed by fine of not less than �'afty dallars
(50.00) nor more than five huncired dollars (500.00) .
Section 5 : That this Ordinance shall be codafiec� in ChaPter IV
of Title 8 of the Canton N�unic�ral Code.
5ection 6 : That thi_s l�rdinance sh�i.11_ be �n full force and ef�'ect
ten (10) c�ays after its passage by the City Council or the City of
Canton, Illinois, aP�roval by the Mayor there�f_ , ar_d u�on its publication
accordin� to 1aw.
