(AN ORDIAIANCE DETERMIN7NG THE CREATTON OF A CONSERVATIOiN
BOARD AND PROCEDURE UNDER THE URB�AN COl►�NIUNITY DEVELO�yMENT
ACT OF Z'HE STATE OF ILLINOIS (ILL. REV. ST,$TS. 1975,
Ch. 67 1/2, Secs. 91.8 et sequi.))
Whereas, by its Ordinance hereto epacted, the Corporate Authorities
of the City of Canton, Illinois thereby determined to endeavor to
utilize the powers and procedures provided by- the Urban Commuqity
Conservation ��gof the State of Illinois (I11. Rev. Stats. 1975, ch.
67 1/2, Secs. �et sequi) and, in iurplementation thereof, thereby
further determined to consider and first provide for the creation of a
"Conservation Board", as contemplated by said Act ; and,
Whereas, said Corporate Authorities have now held hearing therefor
after notice provided by law; and,
Whereas, op further consideration said Corporate Authorities are
of the belief that the creation of a "Conservation Board", as contemplated
by said Act apd the determination to implement procedures and powers
contemplated by said Act would inure to the benefit of this City,
N�W, THEREFORE, BE IT AND IT HEREBY� IS ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF CANTOTI, ILLINOIS, A5 FOLLOWS :
1. That this City shall create a "Conservation Board", to operate
withi� the boundaries of this City, pursuant to the provision of the
Urban Community Conservation Act of the State of Illinois (I11. Rev.
Stats. 19?5, Ch. 67 1/2, Secs. y1.�3 �t sequi) and that the members
thereof shall hereafter be named by formal resolution of this City
after determination of them made in conformity with law and the provisions
of said Act.
2. �hat, thereupon, said "Conservation Board"', as by said Resolutioa
determine, shall procede in the premises of said Act and in exercise
�
of the duties and powers thereby imposed and granted.
3. That this Ordinance shall be i� full force and effect upon
its passage by the City Council of the City of Canton, Illinois and
approval by the Mayor, thereof.
