HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution #3482RESOLUTION NO. 3482 A RESOLUTION TO RESCIND RESOLUTION NO. 3453, PASSED MARCH 16, 1999 AND TO PROVIDE FOR LONGEVITY PAY FOR J. MICHAEL ELAM WHEREAS, Officers of the Police and Fire Departments are eligible for a longevity step after 20 years of service, and upon written notice may be moved to the last longevity step. Such employee shall be entitled to receive the salary provided in such step for a maximum of thirty days. WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Gity Council to make a similar provision fpr the incumbent police chief; and, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CANTON, Fulton County, Illinois as follows: 1. J. Michael Elam upon written notice to the Mayor, shall receive the $7500.00 longevity step for a period of 30 days. If, however, he is still employed after the 30 days, his salary will revert to his previous salary. 2. This is exclusive of all other pay raises, such as annual percentage raises. 3. That Resolution #3453 be and the same hereby is rescinded. 4. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage by the City Council of the- City of Canton, Fulton County, Illinois.
